buffet & hutch
I re-finished this buffet & hutch for my brother & sister-in-law. I am never happy with the pictures that I take. Photography is not easy, and not something I am good at – that’s for sure!!

grey dressers
I just finished up these dressers for a friend. I love how they turned out!

more pink sparkles
After I finished the hot pink dresser & nightstand, my daughter was begging me to keep it. Well, she does not need a new dresser – but I found this desk at Good Will & figured that before too long, she would need a desk in her room. It was pretty beat up and scratched – no biggie though! I know it would be the perfect thing to paint sparkly pink! I didn’t have very much paint left from the hot pink dresser (it took 4 coats!!) so I just mixed what I had with the pink paint that is on the walls in her room.
and here it is finished! I am looking for new hardware for the bottom drawer still – was missing when I got it.
I think she’s pretty excited 🙂 She had to put all of her “stuff” in the drawers right away, and notice the computer on top….sheesh
again with the “bad” pictures – just wanted to give you a close up of the sparkles!

my *new* desk
My aunt & uncle love to yard sale, and they are always on the look out for things for me. They brought me this desk one day, and I thought it was perfect for my small space and love how it closes up to hide all the mess!
the top was pretty scratched up & had “rings” from drinks being set on it. I decided to just paint the outside “shell” grey, and then sand and stain the rest. I distressed the grey just a little, and then sealed the whole thing with satin varathane.
I just lightly sanded the inside, and gave it a new top coat for protection.
Of course I had to replace the shiny brass knob for a cute new one from Pier 1 – love my new desk!!

Hot Pink Glam Dresser & Nightstand – SOLD
I was so excited when I found this dresser & matching nightstand. It is exactly the kind of piece that I love to do!
I posted on facebook, asking for color suggestions. Lots of people said “yellow.” I didn’t really have a gut feeling on this one, and I liked the idea of yellow – even bought yellow paint for it. But then I found this:
Yep, glitter top coat. I had to try it. This dresser seemed like the perfect “girly” piece for glitter 🙂
So – it’s not my ‘normal’ distressed glazed piece, but I love how it turned out (and so does my daughter – she’s begging to keep it for her room 🙂 )
The glitter top-coat went on very easily – I still used 2 coats of satin varathane on top of the giltter (even though you don’t really need another top coat according to the glitter can) Just wanted to make sure it was nice & sealed.

Art Show Re-Cap
I am sure you’re sick of hearing about the Art Show by now – but just to re-cap – it was a GREAT weekend!!! 🙂 Thursday night my dad came over with his big trailer and we loaded it up!
Friday morning we started bright & early setting up my booth! It was a gorgeous day on the Chesapeake Bay!
This was my view for the weekend! The weather was amazing!
loved the little dollhouse furniture I found & painted just for the show!
I attached a “before” photo to each tag, so you could really see the transformation!
this little piece was quite popular – wish I had 10 just like it!!
Sunday morning – doughnuts and coffee with my 3 little helpers. I can’t thank my husband, family & friends enough for all of the support you’ve shown me while getting ready for, and during this show. It was a huge success and I couldn’t have done any of it without all of you!

blue buffet $240 – SOLD
I never would’ve thought I’d be buying furniture from facebook! I bought this buffet from ‘Harford County Backyard Sale.’ It is a group on facebook that is just what it sounds like – people in the area post pics of things they want to sell. When I first saw it, I thought it would look great painted black…..

but then I found & fell in love with knobs from Anthropologie. Lets face it, I knew I’d have way more fun painting it blue 😉 I mixed a few colors together to get the shade of blue that I wanted, glazed it lightly with brown glaze, and sealed it with satin varathane.

vintage curvy teal dresser – SOLD
I got this dresser at an auction. I loved it as soon as I saw it – those curvy drawers at the top! It would be so cute in a nursery – it is the perfect height for a changing table….or in any other room of the house 🙂
