blue buffet $240 – SOLD

I never would’ve thought I’d be buying furniture from facebook!  I bought this buffet from ‘Harford County Backyard Sale.’  It is a group on facebook that is just what it sounds like – people in the area post pics of things they want to sell.  When I first saw it, I thought it would look great painted black…..

but then I found & fell in love with knobs from Anthropologie.  Lets face it, I knew I’d have way more fun painting it blue 😉  I mixed a few colors together to get the shade of blue that I wanted, glazed it lightly with brown glaze, and sealed it with satin varathane.

Guess who’s back….. (all of these pieces were sold at the show)

It feels like it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything.  In-between working on stuff for the Art Show (yes, I will have a booth in the Havre de Grace Art show August 16, 17, & 18 – mark your calendars!!)  and doing a few custom jobs, our entire family got hit big time with a stomach virus.  NOT fun, and I hope that we do not have to go through that again for a LONG time!  Anyhoo, I wanted to share a few pieces at a time that I will have available at the Art Show.  I know it’s still a couple months away, but it will take time to fill a booth!  Have I mentioned how excited I am to be a part of it?!

So – here are the first couple of pieces!

After – I sanded & stained the top a dark espresso color, then painted the rest of the cabinet a creamy white.  Then, I sanded to distress a little – love how the grey paint comes through.

rocking chair

I got this rocking chair at an estate sale – perfect for my little girl’s room!  She even “helped” me paint it. 🙂

door

Why does an interior door have to be white??  Mine isn’t & I love it – it is the perfect ‘pop’ of color against the grey walls in my kitchen.  I panted it teal, distressed a little & used a brown glaze on top (the before photos were taken when the walls were off-white)

jewelry box

I love this little jewelry box – looks like a miniature dresser!  It was a dark brown wood, I painted it blue, then sanded and glazed it.
